Hi Everyone, I tried searching for this issue on google but all I got was "change usb ports" which didn't work, and then on this website where I found one similar issue but it was also fixed by changing usb ports. I hope we can resolve it together! Please forgive me if this question has already been resolved and I simply missed it.
I'm using all of the files from the guide posted as a sticky, here. How To: ROOT your Droid Charge
I'm using a Droid Charge from Verizon with all of the latest updates to my knowledge. Here is the info from the phone.
Hardware Version: i510.06
Baseband Version: i510.06 V.FP1
Kernal Version: 220.127.116.11-FP1
Build Number: SCH-I510.FP1
I connect my phone to the computer via download mode. I get the driver installation spiel and then I open up Odin after "unblocking" it in Windows 7 and running it as an administrator.
I get a yellow box with 008 under ID:COM. It changes to 010 if I plug it into the port beside it. I choose PDA only and uncheck auto reboot. I click on PDA and then I choose 0302_charge_recovery.tar.tar as the file to be injected(?). Then I click start. This is the result.
However, from this point it simply hangs for eternity. Disconnecting the cable nets me a red box and the following result.<ID:0/008> Added!!
<ID:0/008> Odin v.3 engine (ID:8)..
<ID:0/008> File analysis..
I'm not 100% sure what to do, which explains my post. :3<ID:0/008> Removed!!
<ID:0/008> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
Just want to thank anyone in advance for any assistance in this matter. If you're curious as to why I'm wanting the phone rooted, I want to be able to connect my phone to a keyboard for working on writing projects while on airplanes or at hotels without needing to carry around a laptop or tablet.
