Angry Receiving old text messages combined with new ones

when I am texting with my girlfriend (who I text most often), if she sends me a long message, I will receive the beginning of a very old (6month) text that is no longer on my phone, and the last 10 words or so will be the text she actually sent. this is obviously a big problem and can lead to a lot of missed messages. also some texts are not received. I've tried the whole take the sim card out for x amount of time and that didn't work

    Hey Carl, welcome!

I have the same occasional issue with my wife where I'll get a jumbled text of a text weeks old combined with a snippet of the new text she meant to send. I've had the same issue on both stock messaging app as well as GO SMS. I unfortunately don't have a solution, but FWIW, the issue may lie on the sender's end. It's often texts I don't even have on my phone. I also don't have this issue with anyone else and my texts to my wife don't get jumbled either.

Sorry, wish I had more for you, but might be worth having you or your girlfriend try another texting app (handcent or go sms) to see if it changes anything

I think you mean the battery. I don't think we have ever recommended taking out the SIM card for a certain amount of time.
Good luck, I think Brewer is right on this one. What kind of phone does she have?

Interesting, I hadn't heard the SIM card trick. Might be worth a try on my end. Have you tried removing her SIM (Does hers even have a removable sim?)

Wow. Well, then doesn't sound like any of my ideas matter at this point lol. Sorry, I really wish I had a solution for you; sounds like a glitch. Hopefully it's limited to gingerbread???? Thanks for the link Carl.

Crazy. That's one I've never seen before.
Sometimes I get 2 or 3 of the same texts from my wife at the same time but never mixed up.

Has your GF updated her apps and phone with Itunes? It sounds more like a problems within the sending phone.

    Same problem

I have the same exact problem with my boyfriend. I have an iphone 4 and when I text his Droid Razr he recieves old text messages gumbled with my new text message. It is super confusing and really frustrating; I've been looking but have found no solution/ answer. It usually only happens when I send him long text messages.
