So true. I would do two transfers; one from plastic bucket to glass carboy 5 days in then to either bottle or keg.

I actually used siphon from boiling pot to plastic bucket last night, rather than just pouring.

    If I didn't end up contaminating, it's a miracle.

Beer's been getting really expensive. Seems about $7/6pack is the going rate for sales and $8-10 regular price. It's really limiting beer drinking lol

Drank a LOT of miller light back in the Ohio University days... Had an arrogant bastard ale last week that was good.

Generally I stick to Yuengling these days. Since they started distributing outside of Pittsburgh it is easier to get.
Years ago I only picked up a case or two a year when passing through PA.

Finished taxes (still have diagnostics reports and a batches of e-files to push this weekend, but my personal paperwork is done)

For a little victory dance celebration, I sat down tonight for a beer... and there was none in the house

here is my work around for the evening...

Yeah i know, it is sad.

PS. My beer was on "the list". funny how her diet soda made it back to the house with no formal appearance on "the list"... yet my beer is nowhere to be found... but I'm not bitter

I'm going to fix my return to file an 8379... the injured spouse form

Don't worry I'll drink enough beer for the both of us.

I hope you only wanted one because I'm only having 2 tonight lol.

Rad, I used to gravity siphon like you describe, but instead of starting with my mouth, I would fill the plastic tube with water (use the same water you use for brewing). Put one end in the wart, and keep the other end capped with your thumb, and release when ready.

To keep dilution/contamination to a minimum, I would first flow to a bowl or bucket, pinch the tube, and then switch to the final transfer destination.

    Happy drinking!

    That's my favorite kind!

Regarding siphoning I had a pump that hit I started. It was all sanitizable so it worked well.

Me too guys. I can't handle more than three in a night. Rarely do I drink more than one.

The night of my fortieth, my wife decided to totally annihilate me. I believe I had seven double scotch's. I didn't feel right again until Tuesday (party was on Saturday night). Whew!
